Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in the UK is seeking a Senior electrical Engineer to join our Water team across Birmingham, Derby, Redditch or Cardiff.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering electrical or EICA design solutions for infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of electrical design principles, standards and technical documentation.
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary project delivery.
• Ability to produce and review technical outputs such as Single Line Diagrams, specifications and design documentation.
• Strong communication skills with clients, colleagues and project teams.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
• Experience supporting or mentoring less experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop feasibility studies and optioneering.
• Contribute to detailed design, construction support and commissioning activities.
• Produce and review technical deliverables and collaborate with engineers from other disciplines.

We’re looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing Water team, based in Birmingham, Derby, Redditch or Cardiff . ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will support the delivery of electrical and EICA design services across a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Working across the full project lifecycle, you will contribute to feasibility studies, optioneering, detailed design, construction support and commissioning activities.

You will be responsible for developing high-quality engineering solutions, producing and reviewing key technical deliverables and collaborating with engineers from other disciplines to ensure successful project outcomes. You will work closely with Project Managers, discipline leads, clients and supply chain partners, providing technical input and helping to deliver safe, sustainable and efficient designs.

As part of your role, you will also have the opportunity to support junior engineers through mentoring, knowledge sharing and technical guidance, helping to strengthen the capability of the wider Electrical Engineering team.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a motivated Electrical Engineer who is ready to take on greater technical responsibility and contribute to the delivery of complex engineering projects.

Essential

• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience delivering electrical or EICA engineering solutions within an infrastructure, utilities or related environment.
• Understanding of electrical design principles, standards and technical documentation.
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary project delivery.
• Ability to produce and review technical outputs such as Single Line Diagrams, specifications and design documentation.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with clients, colleagues and project teams.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
• Experience supporting or mentoring less experienced engineers.

Desirable

• Experience working within the UK water sector.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, or working towards professional registration.
• Experience with control philosophies, HAZOPs, technical workshops or design reviews.
• Background in utilities, energy, infrastructure or other regulated industries.
