Job summary
SSE is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide Electrical Engineering Technical Authority within Thermal Engineering and Asset Management. You’ll work with Thermal Operations, Commercial, Development and Business Development, and deputise for the Electrical Engineering Manager when required.
You will engage in plant modifications, project oversight from concept to commissioning, and ensure safe, reliable electrical systems across assets.
Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer with extensive experience in thermal power and gas storage electrical engineering.
- Strong technical and commercial awareness with stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication and leadership as Technical Authority.
Responsibilities
- Providing recommendations for plant modifications & upgrades, including MPPC activities and final sign offs.
- Providing specialist engineering support to operational assets to support go/no-go decisions.
- Overseeing electrical engineering project activities from concept to commissioning and testing.
- Assessing electrical systems design to ensure safety and reliability.
- Contributing to independent reviews of capital projects, RCAs and outage scope reviews.
