Job summary

Islington Council is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead cyclical replacement projects across a large residential social housing stock. You will deliver projects to high safety and quality standards, producing detailed technical reports and collaborating with stakeholders to drive asset management initiatives.

You will contribute to long-term planning, work with a professional Building Services team, and demonstrate strong commercial awareness and independent working capabilities.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in electrical technical industry, particularly contracting or consultancy.
• Strong commercial awareness and professional credibility.
• Solid understanding of electrical regulations and standards.
• Demonstrated commitment to Continued Professional Development (CPD).
• Ability to produce clear, detailed technical reports.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Computer literacy and ability to work independently.
• Commitment to outstanding customer care and service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of a wide range of cyclical replacement electrical projects across residential social housing stock.
• Projects include Emergency Lighting Systems, Door Entry Installations, CCTV & Security Infrastructure, Lateral Supplies, Electrical Mains Distribution, Column Estate Lighting.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure safety, quality, and compliance.
• Contribute to a five-year asset management and capital improvement plan through asset data gathering.
