Job summary

Haringey Council is seeking an experienced Electrical Surveyor to join the Housing Service, taking responsibility for pre- and post-void inspections, reviewing EICRs, and coordinating testing and certification programmes while overseeing contractors to ensure high-quality work.

You will ensure compliance with BS 7671, health and safety standards, and prepare technical reports and schedules of work for safe, compliant homes across the borough.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, AM2 certification and City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent are required.
• Proven experience in electrical inspection, testing and certification.
• Experience managing contractors and monitoring performance is essential.
• Strong knowledge of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations, relevant housing electrical compliance standards and health and safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out pre- and post-void electrical inspections.
• Review electrical installation condition reports (EICRs).
• Manage testing and certification programmes.
• Oversee contractors to ensure works are delivered to high standards.
• Produce technical reports and schedules of work, identify defects and specify remedial works.
