Job summary

Taylor Hopkinson is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a major offshore wind project in Germany. The role focuses on electrical design, coordination with multiple disciplines and ensuring compliance with IEC/ABS and other standards.

Offshore oil and gas experience is highly valued for this project. Responsibilities include leading engineers, preparing specs and diagrams, and supporting commissioning, FAT/SAT, and on-site issue resolution through to start-up.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 12+ years in electrical engineering, incl. 5+ years offshore oil & gas.
• Experience developing/managing electrical load lists.
• Power-system calculations and studies experience.
• Experience with generators, transformers, MV/LV switchgear, MCCs, UPS/DC, VFDs.
• Experience with ABS-classed offshore facilities and IEC 61892/60092.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE and ANSI.
• Multidisciplinary coordination and project execution.
• Proficiency in SPEL, ETAP, MS Office. PE registration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform conceptual, FEED and detailed electrical design per specs and standards.
• Prepare and review specifications, datasheets, load lists, single-line diagrams and motor-control schematics.
• Lead and coordinate electrical engineers and designers.
• Coordinate electrical requirements with process, mechanical, instrumentation, telecom and HVAC teams.
• Manage changes, costs, schedules and budgets within scope.
• Develop procurement packages for substations, transformers and electrical materials.
• Coordinate supplier document reviews and equipment inspections.
• Support FAT and SAT, and provide site/field assistance.
