Job summary

Pertemps Newcastle in Newcastle upon Tyne is recruiting a permanent Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design from concept to completion on diverse MEP projects, producing technical calculations and driving delivery.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage client relationships, and ensure designs meet codes and standards using Amtech or AutoCAD. Chartered status is advantageous and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in engineering (BSc/BEng, HND, or HNC).
• Significant experience delivering complex MEP design projects.
• Proficiency in Amtech and AutoCAD or similar software.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and delivery of complex MEP projects across multiple building sectors.
• Produce high-quality technical designs, calculations, specifications, and reports.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant legislation, regulations, standards, and industry best practice.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Manage project programmes, budgets, resource allocation, and change control processes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and graduates.
• Participate in client meetings and communicate technical solutions clearly to all audiences.
• Support business development activities and maintain strong client relationships.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
