Job summary

Black & Veatch seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead complex electrical designs for major infrastructure, energy and industrial projects in the UK. You will act as technical leader, guide multidisciplinary teams and influence engineering standards while delivering high-quality results.

The role offers hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 from home) across Glasgow or London, with opportunities for career development within a globally recognised employee-owned engineering company.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Significant post-graduate engineering experience, typically 8+ years.
• Experience delivering complex electrical engineering projects.
• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
• The ability to influence and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring or project guidance.
• A commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Leading the development and delivery of complex electrical engineering designs and solutions.
• Acting as a trusted technical specialist and guiding project teams.
• Supporting multidisciplinary project delivery from concept through execution.
• Reviewing engineering deliverables for technical excellence, quality and compliance.
• Developing engineering standards, procedures and best practices.
• Managing technical scope, budgets and schedules for assigned workstreams.
• Collaborating closely with clients, project managers and engineering teams to deliver successful outcomes.
• Mentoring and developing engineers across the team, helping build future technical capability.
• Contributing to solutions that address complex infrastructure and energy challenges globally.
