Job summary

Carrington West are seeking a senior Electrical Engineer in Building Services to join a leading contractor on a 12-month contract in Liverpool, with 1 day per week in the office. The role offers rates up to £50 per hour Inside IR35 and visibility on high-value projects.

You will deliver electrical design for major construction schemes, coordinate with MEP and BIM teams, and support cost planning, with a focus on quality and sustainability. Relevant chartership or progression is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• CIBSE / IET member or working towards Chartership.
• Strong experience in building services design (HVAC / MEP).
• Experience delivering medium to large-scale projects.
• Knowledge of BIM, Revit, and design coordination.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical design for major construction projects.
• Produce high-quality designs, specifications, and technical solutions.
• Work closely with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate designs across disciplines (M&E, BIM, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and quality procedures.
• Support cost planning, estimates, and pre-construction activities.
• Contribute to innovative and sustainable design solutions.
• Support and mentor junior engineers where required.
