Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd in Nottingham is seeking an Intermediate/Senior Electrical Engineer to deliver electrical building services designs across commercial and construction projects.

You will take projects from initial concepts through detailed design, coordinating with architects and other engineers, using BIM and Revit to produce coordinated information and maintain high technical standards.

Qualifications

• An electrical engineering degree or equivalent in building services.
• Experience in a building services consultancy or similar design environment.
• Experience producing electrical designs across project stages.
• Knowledge of electrical building services systems (power, lighting, emergency).
• Experience with UK regulations and standards, particularly BS 7671.
• Experience using Revit in a BIM environment.
• Ability to communicate with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Good organisation and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical building services designs across commercial and construction projects.
• Take projects from initial concepts through detailed design, tender and construction stages.
• Produce electrical calculations, specifications, drawings, schedules and technical reports.
• Design and coordinate LV electrical distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, small power, containment and related systems.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, contractors and other consultants.
• Undertake site surveys and inspections and develop practical solutions.
• Review drawings, submissions and contractor proposals throughout project delivery.
• Attend design meetings and provide technical input to clients and teams.
• Assist with commissioning, snagging and resolving issues during construction.
• Use Revit and other design tools to produce coordinated project information.
• Support junior engineers and maintain technical standards.
• Take increasing responsibility for managing own projects, deadlines and client relationships.
