Job description

If you're an electrical engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, developing cutting-edge technologies, and seeing your ideas progress from concept through to real-world deployment, this is an opportunity to play a key role in one of the UK's most exciting low-carbon technology sectors.

We're supporting an innovative engineering organisation developing technologies that will help drive the transition to low-carbon hydrogen production. As part of a growing engineering team, you'll work on the design, development, testing and delivery of new products and systems that are helping shape the future of sustainable energy.

This is not a maintenance, operations or support role. It is a development-focused engineering position offering the chance to work on technically challenging projects, contribute to new technology innovation, and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to bring novel solutions to market.

We're looking for an electrical engineer with strong technical fundamentals, a passion for innovation, and experience developing complex engineered products, equipment or systems. You'll play a key role in translating ideas into practical solutions and supporting the development of next-generation hydrogen technologies.

The role is predominantly office-based, working closely with engineers, project teams and stakeholders on design, development and technical problem-solving activities. There will be occasional workshop involvement supporting testing, validation and prototype development, but the majority of your time will be spent driving engineering projects from concept to delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and contribute to electrical engineering design and development activities across innovative low-carbon hydrogen technologies.
  • Support the development of new products, systems and technologies from concept through to implementation.
  • Work across multiple engineering projects simultaneously, balancing technical excellence with commercial objectives.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Produce electrical calculations, specifications, technical documentation and design reviews.
  • Support testing, validation, prototyping and troubleshooting activities where required.
  • Develop practical, innovative and commercially viable solutions to complex electrical engineering challenges.
  • Help translate new ideas and technologies into real-world applications.
  • Contribute to the advancement of technologies that support the energy transition and decarbonisation.
Requirements
  • Around 5-6 years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong electrical design and development experience.
  • Experience within product development, R&D, systems engineering, industrial equipment or technology development environments.
  • Experience with power systems, electrical equipment, control systems, instrumentation, automation or complex engineered products.
  • Commercial awareness and a practical approach to engineering problem-solving.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving technology environment.
  • Hydrogen production, hydrogen technologies or related energy transition projects.
  • Electrical power systems, power electronics or energy systems.
  • Industrial automation, PLCs, instrumentation and control systems.
  • Renewable energy technologies, BESS or power generation.
  • Electrical equipment design, testing and product development.
  • Prototype development, testing and validation.
What's on Offer
  • Permanent, full-time position.
  • Predominantly office-based role in Horsham.
  • Opportunity to work on pioneering low-carbon hydrogen technologies.
  • Exposure to a wide variety of innovative engineering projects.
  • Genuine influence over product and technology development.
  • Long-term career progression within a growing and ambitious organisation.
  • The chance to contribute directly to technologies supporting the UK's transition to a net-zero future.

If you're looking for an opportunity to work on breakthrough electrical engineering projects, help develop the next generation of low-carbon hydrogen technologies, and play a key role in bringing innovative ideas to life, we'd love to hear from you.
