Job summary

ALink Recruitment Limited and a UK rail-focused engineering consultancy seek a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead technical reviews, advise clients, and guide design conversations.

You will perform Amtech cable calculations, ensure TfL compliance, and support projects with minimal supervision in a fast-paced rail environment.

Qualifications

• Strong background in electrical engineering within the UK rail industry.
• Extensive TfL experience and knowledge.
• Understanding of TfL engineering standards, specifications and processes, including TfL Pathway.
• Ability to independently review, interrogate and challenge electrical designs.
• Broad technical knowledge across rail/building-services electrical systems.
• Comfortable dealing directly with clients and answering technical queries.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ideally Chartered or working at an equivalent senior/technical authority level.

• Liaise directly with clients and confidently explain or defend technical decisions.
• Provide pragmatic solutions where engineering or design issues arise.
• Support projects as required, with workload varying depending on client and project demands.

ALink Recruitment are working with an engineering consultancy that are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to provide technical support to a rail consultancy.

The requirement is for someone with strong electrical engineering knowledge who can act as a senior technical point of contact, providing advice, reviewing and checking designs, answering technical queries and supporting discussions with clients. You would be undertaking cable calculations using Amtech.
