Job summary

GA Pet Food is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering Maintenance department. You will perform preventative, reactive and improvement tasks across the site, ensuring a safe workplace and high-quality workmanship.

The role requires the ability to work under pressure and use your own initiative. You will have strong electrical experience, be familiar with inverter drives, relay logic and PLCs, and be able to identify root causes of equipment failures while coaching and supporting

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Systematic and methodical problem solving.

The successful applicant will work within our Engineering Maintenance department and become a key member of our multi-disciplined team. You will conduct a range of preventative, reactive, and improvement engineering tasks across the business while ensuring a safe working environment and high-quality workmanship. You must demonstrate an ability to cope under pressure at times and be able to use your own initiative when required.

• City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Systematic and methodical approach to problem-solving
• Good team worker with good communication skills
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Fault finding from schematic drawings
• Experience with inverter drives
• Experience working with relay logic and PLC’s
• Have extensive electrical experience
• Safe working and lone working
• Familiar with industrial plant
• Identifying the root cause of equipment failure
• Executing fast and efficient repairs to minimise production downtime
• Completing preventative maintenance tasks
