Job summary

Black & Veatch in the UK is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. You’ll lead complex electrical design delivery across infrastructure, energy and industrial projects, acting as a technical leader within multidisciplinary teams.

This role offers a hybrid working model (3 days in the office, 2 days from home) with ample opportunity to mentor colleagues, shape engineering standards and contribute to energy transition on a global scale.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Significant post-graduate engineering experience, typically 8+ years.
• Experience delivering complex electrical engineering projects.
• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to influence and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring or project guidance.
• Commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of complex electrical engineering designs and solutions.
• Act as a trusted technical specialist and provide guidance to project teams.
• Support multidisciplinary project delivery from concept through to execution.
• Review engineering deliverables and ensure technical excellence, quality and compliance.
• Develop engineering standards, procedures and best practices.
• Manage technical scope, quality, budgets and schedules for assigned workstreams.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers and engineering teams to deliver successful outcomes.
• Support business development and identify future opportunities with existing and new clients.
• Mentor and develop engineers across the team to build future technical capability.
• Contribute to solutions addressing complex infrastructure and energy challenges globally.

Key Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership across a range of projects and responsibilities, including:

• Leading the development and delivery of complex electrical engineering designs and solutions
• Acting as a trusted technical specialist and providing guidance to project teams
• Supporting multidisciplinary project delivery from concept through to execution
• Reviewing engineering deliverables and ensuring technical excellence, quality and compliance
• Developing engineering standards, procedures and best practices
• Managing technical scope, quality, budgets and schedules for assigned workstreams
• Collaborating closely with clients, project managers and engineering teams to deliver successful outcomes
• Supporting business development and helping identify future opportunities with existing and new clients
• Mentoring and developing engineers across the team, helping build future technical capability
• Contributing to solutions that address complex infrastructure and energy challenges globally

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:

• Power Generation
• Transmission & Distribution
• Grid Infrastructure
• Renewable Energy
• Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
