Ciwmjobs is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join an established team in Clevedon, providing electrical support for existing semiconductor equipment. The role focuses on reliability, safety and long-term performance through design upgrades and issue resolution.

You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to deliver practical solutions, with hybrid working options available in line with business needs.

Qualifications

• An electrically biased engineering degree or relevant engineering qualification.
• Experience in electrical engineering design and product development.
• 2D and 3D CAD skills using CATIA/AutoCAD/Visio or similar.
• Knowledge of design for manufacture and design for assembly.
• Experience with engineering materials and manufacturing methods.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical modules and sub-assemblies to improve existing products.
• Investigate and resolve recurring technical issues affecting equipment in the field.
• Develop design upgrades to improve reliability, safety and maintainability.
• Support the management of obsolete components and identify alternative sources of supply.
• Verify designs against technical requirements and relevant engineering standards through calculations and testing.
• Ensure engineering solutions meet agreed quality, cost and project deadlines.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, including models, drawings, design data, bills of materials and test data.
• Work with engineering, service, manufacturing, suppliers and customers to deliver effective solutions.

About the Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join an established engineering team in Clevedon, providing electrical engineering support for existing semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

The role focuses on improving the reliability, safety and long-term performance of products already in service. You will work on design upgrades, resolving technical issues, managing obsolete components and improving product maintainability.

Working closely with teams across engineering, manufacturing, service and suppliers, you will develop practical engineering solutions to improve product performance and meet customer requirements.

Hybrid and flexible working may be available in line with business needs.

About You

• An electrically biased engineering degree or relevant engineering qualification.
• At least two years' industry experience.
• Experience in electrical engineering design and product development.
• 2D and 3D CAD skills, using tools such as CATIA, Visio, AutoCAD or similar.
• Knowledge of design for manufacture and design for assembly.
• Experience with engineering materials and manufacturing methods.
• An understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and system schematics.
• A results-focused approach, with the ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure.
• Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical information clearly.

Location

Clevedon, North Somerset, with hybrid working available.
