Billy Associates in Hampshire is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for building and infrastructure schemes on a hybrid basis. You will manage design delivery, mentor junior staff, and liaise with clients and partners to ensure quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strong building services background, ideally gained in consultancy.
• Ability to run jobs with minimal oversight while keeping senior management informed.
• Confident and professional in front of clients.
• Solid grasp of industry regulations, standards and best practice.
• Proven track record of mentoring developing engineers.
• Well organised and comfortable juggling several schemes at once.
• Proactive about problem-solving, quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design on multiple schemes, to BS 7671, CIBSE guidance and statutory requirements.
• Carry out site and condition surveys and feasibility assessments, and write technical reports.
• Produce detailed, tender-ready designs, specifications, calculations and budget estimates.
• Attend design team meetings and liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
• Review tender returns and contractor working drawings, and answer site queries.
• Attend progress meetings, monitoring workmanship, materials and programme.
• Prepare snagging lists and oversee final testing and commissioning.
• Contribute to valuations, contractor claims and final account agreements.
• Identify opportunities to grow services with existing and new clients.
• Supervise and mentor junior and intermediate staff, flagging training needs to senior management.
