Job summary

Equans UK & Ireland is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer in Manchester to deliver low-carbon electrical designs for decarbonisation and energy retrofit projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and mentoring colleagues.

Role focuses on LV design, solar PV, battery storage, LED lighting, and building power infrastructure within commercial/public-sector buildings; involves client discussions and design leadership.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering; CEng status or working towards.
• Experience in design and design management of sustainable retrofit and low-carbon energy projects.
• Experience across full RIBA stages on multidisciplinary teams and public sector decarbonisation projects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality electrical designs for decarbonisation and retrofit projects.
• Lead design packages and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and support bids and fee proposals.
• Check and sign-off designs to BS 7671 and UK regulations.
