Job summary

Advance TRS is recruiting a Senior Electrical Design Engineer specializing in decarbonisation and energy solutions in Manchester. You will lead electrical design for sustainable retrofit projects, covering solar PV, BESS, LV distribution, lighting and energy-efficient systems.

You will deliver designs from concept through to delivery within a multidisciplinary team, coordinating with BIM and other disciplines, and ensuring compliance with BS7671 and UK Building Regulations.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards is preferred.
Strong LV electrical design background and experience with low-carbon systems.
Experience designing solar PV and energy storage systems.
Knowledge of DNO application processes and UK Building Regulations.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical design and coordination of decarbonisation and retrofit projects.
Produce detailed designs across RIBA Stages 2-5 with calculations and schematics.
Design LV infrastructure including Solar PV, BESS, LED lighting, and smart controls.
Manage DNO applications from feasibility to approval.
Coordinate with mechanical, energy and BIM teams; review designs to BS7671 and regs.
Attend client meetings and mentor junior engineers.
