Job summary

Set2Recruit is seeking a Contract Electrical Design Engineer near Taunton/Weston-super-Mare for an initial 3-month hybrid role, with a rate of £40-£50 per hour. You will work across electrical schematics, design modifications and product compliance.

Ideally you have strong electrical design and CAD experience (SEE Electrical, EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical), with controls, sensors, motors, power supplies and PCB assemblies, plus knowledge of electrical compliance.

• Knowledge of electrical compliance and technical files.
• ATEX or CompEx experience is desirable.

• Perform testing, fault-finding and ensure product compliance.
• Take projects from initial requirements through to manufacture.

Job description

Contract Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Near Taunton/Weston-super-Mare
Contract: Initial 3 months
IR35: Inside IR35
Hybrid: Alternating between 3 days and 2 days per week onsite
Rate: £40-50 per hour.

You must really have -

• ATEX or CompEx experience would be highly desirable -
• AND can start in 1-2 weeks (latest)

You’ll be working across electrical schematics, design modifications, technical documentation, testing, fault-finding and product compliance, taking projects from initial requirements through to manufacture.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Strong electrical design and schematic experience
• Electrical CAD experience - SEE Electrical, EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical or similar
• Experience with controls, sensors, motors, power supplies and PCB assemblies
• Product development and manufacturing experience
• Knowledge of electrical compliance and technical files
• ATEX or CompEx experience would be highly desirable

You’ll need to be comfortable getting hands‑on, working across several projects and taking ownership from day one.
