Job description

Our client is now looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in the Plymouth area.

Role Purpose

To create Electrical, Control and Instrumentation designs in line with client specifications. To procure and manage any relevant specialist work packages required to meet project requirements.

Responsibilities

1. Design LV electrical distribution systems (HV experience desired but not essential).
2. Design of cable containment/support systems.
3. Be willing to undergo necessary security clearances (BPSS/SC).
4. Previous experience of working in the nuclear environments and associated governance.
5. Personally create and manage the creation of, through direct reports, the following documentation:
1. Specifications & Datasheets
2. Cable Calculations & Schedules
3. Reports and plans
4. Drawings
5. Change Request Documents
6. Commissioning Reports
6. Review and check manufacturer document/information for compliance with project specifications.
7. HR & Technical Authority to Direct Reports. Support technical reviews.
8. Develop and maintain relationships with Client team, relevant technical consultants, and suppliers.
9. Mentor Engineers, Graduates & Trainees within your team.

The Individual

Who we're looking for:

1. Must be proficient in Trimble (Amtech) ProDesign.
2. Clear focus on collaboration and building relationships with other designers and project teams to deliver cost-effective and acceptable design solutions.
3. Microsoft Office experience is essential including Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint.
4. Knowledge of codes of practice and other regulatory material.
