Job summary

Caterpillar's Electric Power Division in Larne, Northern Ireland, is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical design activities from concept through delivery on customer power solutions. You will work with cross‑functional teams and use AutoCAD, EPLAN, Creo, and SAP to design controls for generators and motors, review drawings, and support manufacturing and commissioning.

This office‑based role is five days a week in Larne with a competitive starting salary of £50,827, plus

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven experience leading electrical design projects.
  • Ability to produce and interpret engineering drawings, calculations.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD/EPLAN; Creo experience is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret consultant drawings & specifications.
  • Review projects for commercial and design implications.
  • Prepare submittal documentation and meet with customers.
  • Design controls for generators and motors.
  • Create BOMs and support manufacturing.
  • Lead project drawings and technical reviews.
  • Develop control device settings and project lead responsibilities.
  • Assist with product testing and procedure updates.
