Job summary

Caterpillar Peterlee is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician (multiskilled) to join a busy site in County Durham. The role covers planned and reactive maintenance across automated metal cutting, paint, robotic welding, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.

You will work within a 3-shift rotating pattern and support continuous uptime of critical plant and equipment. The ideal candidate has an apprenticeship in a mechanical or electrical discipline, PLC experience, and a background in manufacturing

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical discipline.
• Experience with PLCs.
• Maintenance and fault-finding in manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive and reactive maintenance.
• Carry out risk assessments and follow Health & Safety policy.
• Use CMMS (SAP PM/Agility) to log actions and review data.
• Diagnose PLC concerns and implement changes.
• Remain proactive in training and continuous improvement.
