Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Design Engineer for a contract role in Cambridge. The ideal candidate will have experience in hazardous environments and the Oil & Gas industry, with a focus on electrical design and instrumentation. This position offers a competitive hourly rate and requires a strong skillset in PLC understanding and documentation generation.

Qualifications

• Experience in hazardous environments (ATEX, COMPEX, NORSOK).
• Experience with junction boxes, instruments, isolating equipment, electric motors, and control panels.
• Ability to generate E&I documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical and instrumentation systems for hazardous environments.
• Generate E&I documentation such as utilities/cable schedules and test procedures.

£43-46 per hour outside IR35
6-12 month initial contract

Essential skillset:
- Electrical and Instrumentation Design within hazardous environments (ATEX, COMPEX, NORSOK)
- Understanding of PLC (Siemens S7 and Allen Bradley)
- Experience working within the Offshore Energy or Oil & Gas industry
- Experience with junction boxes, instruments, isolating equipment, electric motors and control panels
- Generate E&I documentation such as utilities/cable Schedules, I/O Schedules, Bill of materials, Hazardous Area Schedules, Test Procedures, Lighting Calcs etc
