Job Description:

Note: This role is open to candidates currently located in and with working rights in the UK (Cambridge and Bristol). Consideration may also be given to candidates in Germany (preferably Munich) and Greece (preferably Athens).

Codasip is a leading innovator in processor solutions, specializing in designing high-performance, energy-efficient RISC-V CPU cores for advanced applications such as supercomputers and embedded systems. We provide proprietary tools to customize these cores, giving our clients a competitive edge in system-on-chip development.

We seek a results-oriented Senior Physical Design Engineer to oversee the entire physical design flow. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with digital hardware design engineers, providing feedback on power, performance, and area (PPA) from a backend perspective. Extensive knowledge of design flows and tools, along with contributions to flow development, are essential for success.

What you’ll do:

• Synthesis and Floorplanning of CPU IPs of varying complexity
• Take ownership of physical design activities on live projects
• Analyze timing and power consumption
• Contribute to design methodology and library evaluation
• Collaborate with digital hardware engineers, providing physical design feedback
• Participate in PPA activities for marketing and product teams

Requirements:

• Experience with advanced design techniques, including clock/voltage domain crossing, DFT, high-performance, high-frequency, and low power designs
• Proficiency with RTL2GDSII flow and SoC workflows, including Synthesis, Floorplanning, PnR, STA
• Experience with 16/12/7nm process nodes
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Good organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or electronics
