Pertemps Newcastle seeks an Electrical Contracts Manager in Dunston for a renewable energy business delivering commercial and industrial solar PV schemes throughout the UK. This full-time, permanent post pays £50,000 to £60,000 yearly.

The successful candidate oversees multiple solar installations from pre-construction to handover, ensuring safe, timely, budget-conscious completion. Strong client liaison and quality assurance skills are essential for growth in clean energy infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Electrical Contracts Manager in renewable energy or construction.
• Strong Solar PV project delivery experience is essential.
• Electrical qualifications such as NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Excellent knowledge of BS7671 Wiring Regulations and CDM/Health & Safety regulations.
• Experience managing subcontractors and direct labour teams; ability to handle multiple projects.
• Strong commercial awareness and budget management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple Solar PV projects from award through to commissioning and handover.
• Oversee project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and delivery.
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and client stakeholders.
• Ensure all projects comply with electrical regulations, industry standards, and HSE requirements.
• Monitor project budgets, costs, and commercial performance.
• Conduct regular site visits and progress meetings.
• Support procurement activities and materials management.
• Produce and review project documentation, risk assessments, and method statements.
• Manage project variations and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for future work.
