Job summary

MWH Treatment is seeking a Senior Electrical CAD Technician to lead electrical CAD and BIM outputs for UK water projects from the Northern Region, with flexible/hybrid working. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams, champion digital delivery, and mentor junior staff while delivering high-quality, buildable drawings in line with CDM and project standards.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
• Strong Electrical CAD background: infrastructure/utilities.
• Advanced 2D drafting using industry-standard software.
• Strong 3D modelling experience; model-based design principles.
• Proven experience using Revit and Bentley ProjectWise or equivalents.
• Understanding of electrical engineering drawings: layouts, routes, MCCs, power distribution.
• Broad experience with engineering software and digital delivery tools.
• Knowledge of BIM processes and QA in design environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the production, coordination and QA of electrical design drawings and models.
• Manage and prioritise CAD workloads to meet programmes and milestones.
• Act as Digital Delivery Champion, promoting CAD, BIM and digital engineering best practices.
• Coordinate drawing production by offshore/remote design teams.
• Ensure designs comply with CDM Regulations, standards and procedures.
• Coordinate information across Electrical, ICA, Mechanical, Civil and Process disciplines.
• Assist in resolving technical queries, clashes and coordination issues.
• Produce and review electrical design models, layouts and schematics.
• Maintain drawing standards, QA processes and document control.
• Collaborate with construction teams and supply chain to improve buildability.
