Job summary

Mott MacDonald is recruiting a Principal Electrical Building Services Engineer for the Energy unit (Nuclear: Defence and Civil). The role focuses on delivering electrical building services design solutions for regulated projects across the UK and Europe, leading a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with clients and suppliers.

You will drive technical excellence, ensure safety and quality, and mentor engineering staff while delivering sometimes complex refurbishment and new build projects

Qualifications

• Have strong engineering knowledge of electrical building services design principles.
• Be proactive, self-motivated and able to influence engineering practices.
• Experience managing and supervising engineering teams on multi-discipline projects.
• Effective communication with Clients and team members.
• Up-to-date knowledge of regulations and standards in electrical design.

Responsibilities

• Review, check, govern, assure and approve electrical design solutions produced by the team.
• Coordinate delivery within multi-disciplinary design teams and project procedures.
• Mentor and guide the electrical capability across the project portfolio.
• Manage design documents, including basis of designs, specifications, and surveys.
• Oversee design drawings: layouts, block diagrams and single-line schematics.
• Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards and programme/cost targets.
• Lead estimates of work elements for bids, scope and delivery strategy.
• Collaborate with clients, managers and suppliers across UK/Europe.
