Job summary

Pick Everard in Nottingham seeks a forward-thinking Principal Building Services Engineer (Electrical) to join a national team. Lead design delivery, mentor junior staff, and ensure BS7671 compliance on diverse private and public sector projects.

The role supports flexible location with a dynamic, collaborative environment and opportunities for professional growth within a sizeable multidisciplinary practice.

Qualifications

• HND/Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Knowledge and understanding of BS7671.
• Knowledge of H&S/CDM requirements and current legislation e.g., UK Building Regulations.
• Familiarity with electrical and lighting design software such as Hevacomp/Amtech/Dialux.
• Excellent communication skills, collaborative and self - motivated.
• Structured wiring system and security system design experience.
• Knowledge of construction industry design processes and procurement arrangements.
• Resource planning and management experience.
• Fire alarm and emergency lighting design experience.
• Business development experience.

Responsibilities

• Delivering portfolios of work across both the private and public sector.
• Preparing designs, feasibility studies, reports, and contract documents.
• Carrying out building analysis.
• Managing various contracts.
• Liaising directly with Clients and Contractors.
• Ensuring projects are delivered accurately and on time.
• Providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and graduate trainees.
• Compliance with Health & Safety requirements, practices and procedures.
