Are you passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you have the experience and leadership skills to support complex casework, guide colleagues, and help shape high-quality SEND services?
Hillingdon Council is looking for a Senior EHC Co-ordinator to join our SEND Service. This is an exciting opportunity to take a lead role within a busy and ambitious team, supporting children and young people aged 0-25 with SEND while contributing to service development and continuous improvement.
As a Senior EHC Co-ordinator, you will manage a complex caseload of children and young people undergoing Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessments or with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), whilst supporting EHC Co-ordinators within the team. You will act as a key point of contact for families and professionals, coordinate statutory processes and annual reviews, represent the Local Authority at panels where required, and support effective transitions throughout a child or young person's educational journey.
In addition, you will play a key leadership role within the SEND Team, providing casework supervision to EHC Co-ordinators, line management support to SEND Review Officers, and deputising for the SEND Team Manager when required.
Hillingdon Council is committed to delivering excellent services for children and young people with SEND and their families. As we continue to develop and improve our SEND provision, we are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable professional who can lead by example, manage complex cases, and support colleagues to achieve positive outcomes.
You will be organised, solution-focused and resilient, with a strong understanding of SEND legislation and a commitment to person-centred practice. You will be confident working with families, schools, health partners and social care professionals, and able to make sound decisions within a statutory framework.
At Hillingdon, we're committed to ensuring children and young people with SEND receive the right support at the right time to help them achieve their full potential. You'll join a supportive and collaborative service that values professional development, innovation and continuous improvement while making a meaningful difference to the lives of local families.
Our values of Respect, Collaboration, Efficiency, Integrity and Openness underpin everything we do.
This is a hybrid role, and you will be expected to attend the office approximately two days per week.
The role also involves regular visits to schools and educational settings across the borough. Therefore, access to a car or another reliable method of travel is essential.
Join Hillingdon Council and help us continue putting children, young people and families at the heart of everything we do.
