We are seeking a new member of our EPS Senior Leadership Team! Due to the retirement of one of our wonderful colleagues, we are looking to recruit a new Senior Educational Psychologist to join our leadership team in September 2025. We are keen to encourage people from a range of backgrounds to apply, especially people currently under-represented in the EP profession e.g. black and minority ethnic groups, LGTBQ+, male, consider yourself to have a disability and from a low socioeconomic background.

Our Team

Nottinghamshire EPS uses a strength-based, collaborative and consultative service delivery model. Our work is guided by a desire to promote social inclusion and social justice for all Nottinghamshire children and young people, but especially for those in the most vulnerable situations. We also deliver training, research and project work to promote early intervention and high-quality support and CPD across a range of education and social care settings. Here are some quotes for our team about why they like working in our EPS - Why Notts EPS? - Live link

The successful candidate will be supervised by the principal educational psychologist and these are the essential things we are looking for in the role:

  • A dynamic individual who is keen to join a collaborative leadership team.
  • Someone who can offer leadership, support and guidance to our educational psychology team and service.
  • Someone with strong personal resilience and the ability to make decisions and facilitate problem-solving in complex situations.
  • Strong application of psychology to support the inclusion of children in vulnerable situations including children with SEND, children in care, previously in care and children with a social worker, children at risk of exclusion from education and children involved in the youth justice system.

What We Can Offer You

  • Regular psychological supervision and the opportunity to be part of a collaborative leadership team.
  • The opportunity to lead and shape an expanding Educational Psychology Service, committed to delivering a range of service activities including statutory duties.
  • Regular continuing professional development opportunities.
  • Opportunities to join and lead on strategic projects across the Local Area SEND Partnership and other areas of joint working in the local area.
  • Supportive and flexible working arrangements, agreed with you to meet your needs and to get the best from you as a team member. Your typical working week will likely include a hybrid mix of online and in-person activities.

We would love to hear from you and please contact our Principal Educational Psychologist Dr. Órlaith Green orlaith.green@nottscc.gov.uk or Senior Educational Psychologist Dr. Katie Ruane katie.ruane@nottscc.gov.uk (job share colleague) if you would like a conversation about the role.
