Training & Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Completed (or due to complete in 2025) postgraduate doctoral level DClinPsy in clinical psychology as accredited by the BPS
• Current HCPC registration for Clinical Psychologist (or eligibility to qualify for registration in 2025)
• Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS/HCPC

Desirable criteria

• Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice

Experience

Essential criteria

• Experience of working with children and adults with physical health problems, or with children or adults with mental health problems
• Experience of exercising clinical responsibility for client's psychological care and treatment
• Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision
• Experience of carrying out research

Desirable criteria

• Working as a qualified Clinical Psychologist in paediatric psychology or adult clinical health psychology

Communication & Relationship skills

• Well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, highly technical, and clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS
• Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups

• Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management

• Knowledge of complex multivariate data analysis as practiced within the field of clinical psychology

Planning & organisation skills

• Ability to identify, provide and promote appropriate means of support to carers and staff exposed to distressing situations

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
