Job summary

North Yorkshire Council’s School Improvement Service is looking for a senior leader to drive educational improvement across its large authority area. The role involves working with Local Authority maintained schools and academies to raise achievement, inclusion and reduce disparities.

The postholder will influence and support schools, partners and settings, building on early years and school successes to foster a self-improving system. Strong leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience as a serving school or system leader.
• Proven track record in delivering strong and sustained school improvement.
• Ability to influence, inspire and support colleagues and partners.

Responsibilities

• Support the school improvement strategy across North Yorkshire Council.
• Contribute to raising achievement and promoting inclusion.
• Diminish differences between vulnerable groups through collaborative work.
• Develop collaboration and partnerships between settings, schools and system partners.
