Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Staff Machine Learning/AI Engineer to advance edge AI platforms and the ML/compiler ecosystem. You will port models to RAP1-class hardware, improve enablement infrastructure, and influence the hardware-software roadmap.

You will lead ML enablement workflows, build tooling for a broad model zoo, and drive quantization-aware training across constrained edge platforms in close partnership with ML, compiler and silicon teams.

Qualifications

• Deep experience in ML systems, deployment, and AI infrastructure.
• Strong background in edge/accelerated inference with tuning.
• Experience with compiler/toolchain for ML workloads.
• Understanding hardware/software co-design for inference acceleration.
• Experience with low-power edge platforms and accelerators.
• Ability to optimize memory, scheduling and data movement.
• Translate research to practical tooling and production workflows.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and influence.

Responsibilities

• Lead ML enablement workflows for Rivian edge AI platforms.
• Develop front-end compiler/model-ingestion tools for a model zoo on RAP1+ platforms.
• Scale quantization-aware training and model optimization infra.
• Port/optimize/validate models for accelerators and NPU-class architectures.
• Improve performance across memory, scheduling, sparsity, data movement.
• Evaluate model fidelity across FP and quantized paths; assess tradeoffs.
• Collaborate across software, compiler, architecture and product teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship on deployment and tooling.
• Help shape long-term Rivian edge AI stack direction.
