Job summary

Rivian seeks a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to advance end-to-end models that unify perception, prediction, and planning for autonomous driving. You will lead architecture, training pipelines, and deployment across large-scale data from real-world and simulated environments.

You will collaborate with perception, planning, and simulation teams to align model capabilities with real-world constraints, latency, and robustness while mentoring engineers on autonomy ML programs.

Qualifications

• PhD/MS/BS in CS, Robotics or related field.
• 5+ years of experience building and deploying large-scale ML systems.
• Strong knowledge of transformer models and autonomous agents.
• Fluency in Python and C++ with production software engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end autonomous driving models and architecture for perception, planning, and control.
• Build multi-modal, transformer-based systems for closed-loop autonomy.
• Create scalable training/evaluation pipelines across real and simulated data.
• Collaborate with perception, planning, simulation, and ML teams.
