Job summary

The City of Doncaster Council is inviting applications for a Senior Ecologist Planner to work at the interface of ecology and planning. The role includes acting as a key consultee on planning applications and delivering biodiversity gains across developments in Doncaster.

You will contribute to monitoring, habitat conservation, and habitat bank projects while supporting flexibility through hybrid working and a supportive pension scheme.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of UK habitats and ecological practices.
• Experience interpreting ecological reports for planning decisions.
• Familiar with biodiversity net gain and habitat conservation.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key consultee on planning applications and provide expert ecological advice.
• Support Principal Ecologist and Biodiversity Officer on environmental projects.
• Carry out fieldwork on site and in the office as needed.
