Job summary

Avian Ecology Ltd in Falkirk is seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to join our Scotland team. You will work with our Technical Director and Principals to deliver a wide range of ecological projects from surveys to reporting, with a emphasis on renewables and infrastructure.

The role requires a degree in Ecology, strong field survey skills, and the ability to mentor junior staff. You will manage projects, liaise with clients, and contribute to CPD and career progression within a growing

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified ecologist with field and reporting experience.
• Experience delivering ecological projects from surveys to reporting.
• Knowledge of UK ecological legislation and planning policy.
• Experience with EIA and Habitats Regulations Assessments.
• Experience renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
• Mentoring and client liaison abilities.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver ecological projects from survey to reporting.
• Plan and undertake protected species and habitat surveys.
• Write Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and EIAs.
• Advise clients on ecological constraints and opportunities.
• Support fee proposals and technical report reviews.
• Collaborate with senior ecologists on large projects.
