Energy Jobline ZR in Leeds seeks a Senior Ecologist to join a well-established practice. You will lead ecological assessments, habitat surveys and impact studies across a range of projects.

You will conduct field surveys including protected species work, prepare detailed reports and mitigation strategies, and advise clients on ecological issues while mentoring junior ecologists and ensuring compliance with UK wildlife legislation and planning policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in ecological consultancy or related field.
• Proficiency in survey techniques, data analysis, and report writing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of UK wildlife legislation and planning regulations.

Job DescriptionSenior Ecologist Leeds We are looking for a Senior Ecologist to join a well-established company in Leeds. The company work on a diverse range of projects from local conservation, to large-scale infrastructure developments.

What We're Looking For

• Experience within an ecological consultancy or a related field.
• A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• A master's degree or PhD is advantageous.
• Proficiency in ecological survey techniques, data analysis, and report writing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A strong understanding of UK wildlife legislation, planning regulations, and best practices in ecological management.

Key Responsibilities

• To lead and manage ecological assessments, habitat surveys, and impact studies for various projects.
• To conduct and oversee field surveys, including protected species surveys, habitat assessments, and ecological monitoring.
• Wrepare detailed ecological reports, impact assessments, and mitigation strategies.
• Client Liaison: Build and maintain relationships with clients, providing expert advice and guidance on ecological issues.
• Assisting with supporting junior ecologists with the option to mentor Ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, planning policies, and environmental standards.
