Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to join a leading environmental consultancy in Bristol. The role focuses on managing ecological projects from inception to completion, including protected species surveys and producing detailed reports.

The position offers a competitive salary (£40,000–£50,000), flexible/hybrid working, generous leave, a company pension and opportunities for CPD and career development within a supportive ecology team.

Qualifications

• A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
• Previous experience working within an ecological consultancy.
• Strong protected species survey and assessment experience.
• Experience producing ecological reports and technical documentation.
• Good understanding of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy.
• BNG and/or habitat assessment experience.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Full right to work in the UK.
• Be living in or within a commutable distance of Bristol.

Responsibilities

• Managing and delivering ecological projects from inception to completion.
• Undertaking and overseeing protected species surveys.
• Producing technical ecological reports.
• Providing ecological advice to clients and supporting project teams.
