Job summary

Penguin Recruitment invites applications for a Senior Ecologist in Tetbury. Lead a diverse portfolio, undertake protected species surveys, and deliver technical reports, EcIA and Biodiversity Net Gain strategies. You will advise clients and planners, mentor junior ecologists, and help drive business development.

Qualifications

  • Strong field survey experience and good botanical knowledge.
  • Expertise in UK wildlife legislation and planning policy.
  • Experience producing EcIA and Biodiversity Net Gain assessments.
  • Protected species licences desirable; membership of CIEEM encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a diverse portfolio of ecological projects from tender to completion.
  • Undertake and oversee protected species surveys and habitat assessments.
  • Deliver high-quality technical reports, EcIAs, and Biodiversity Net Gain strategies.
  • Provide expert ecological advice to clients, planners and design teams.
  • Mentor junior ecologists and contribute to team development.
  • Support business development and maintain client relationships.

The Senior Ecologist will
  • Lead a diverse portfolio of ecological projects from tender to completion
  • Undertake and oversee protected species surveys and habitat assessments
  • Deliver high-quality technical reports, EcIAs, and Biodiversity Net Gain strategies
  • Provide expert ecological advice to clients, planners, and design teams

You will ideally have

  • Protected species licences (desirable)
  • Membership of CIEEM (or working towards)
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and project management skills
