Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Ecologist for an established environmental consultancy in Ipswich. You will lead ecological surveys, manage projects from inception to completion, and deliver high-quality technical reports for a diverse client base.

The role requires a degree in Ecology, consultancy experience, and a strong grasp of UK wildlife legislation. A full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK are essential, with opportunities for career progression and ongoing

Qualifications

• Degree in Ecology or related environmental discipline.
• Experience in an environmental consultancy or similar.
• Strong understanding of UK wildlife legislation and survey techniques.
• Excellent report writing and project management skills.

• Living in or near Ipswich with commuting distance.
• Mentoring junior colleagues and strong communication skills.

A leading independent environmental consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Ecologist to join its expanding team in Ipswich. Renowned for delivering innovative ecological and environmental consultancy services across infrastructure, development and land management projects, the business offers a collaborative culture where technical expertise and professional development are genuinely valued.

As a Senior Ecologist, you'll lead a variety of ecological surveys, manage projects from inception through to completion, prepare high-quality technical reports, advise clients on ecological constraints and mitigation, and support the development of junior team members. Working alongside experienced specialists, the Senior Ecologist will contribute to delivering practical, sustainable solutions across a diverse project portfolio.
