Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Ecologist to join its growing ecology division in Cambridge. You will lead ecological surveys, produce reports and manage projects across residential, commercial and infrastructure opportunities, working within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Significant experience within ecological consultancy.
• Ability to manage multiple ecological projects.
• Strong technical report writing and communication skills.
• CIEEM membership with chartered status or licences desirable.
• Knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy.
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Lead ecological surveys, site inspections and habitat assessments.
• Produce technical reports, impact assessments and mitigation strategies.
• Manage projects from quotation through to completion.
• Build relationships with clients, planners and external stakeholders.
• Mentor junior ecologists.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high technical standard.

A leading environmental consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Ecologist to join its growing ecology division in Cambridge. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced ecology professional to take on a varied role within a successful consultancy delivering environmental advice across residential, commercial, infrastructure, energy and conservation projects. You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team, taking ownership of projects while helping to shape the continued growth of the ecology department.

The role:

• Lead ecological surveys, site inspections and habitat assessments
• Produce technical reports, impact assessments and mitigation strategies
• Manage projects from quotation through to successful completion
• Build strong relationships with clients, planners and external stakeholders
• Support, mentor and review the work of junior ecologists
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high technical standard

Requirements:
