Job summary

Assystem is seeking a Senior EC&I Engineer for a Whitehaven-based role to deliver electrical, control and instrumentation activities within the nuclear decommissioning sector. You will coordinate with both on-site staff and off-site design teams to meet safety, quality and schedule targets, and contribute to design reviews and technical queries.

• Education or equivalent in engineering or related field.
• Experience delivering to timescales in a nuclear or highly regulated environment.
• Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management.
• Proven design delivery experience on complex projects.
• Familiarity with SL Practices, standards and engineering guides.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tasks and support requests to quality and schedule.
• Maintain effective communications with on-site staff and off-site design teams.
• Support timely responses to Technical Queries and Fault Observations.
• Liaise daily with the project team delivering the works.
• Provide upward reporting of issues and risks.
• Ensure input to designs meets required standards and schedules.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to meet project goals and drive cost/schedule reductions.
• Participate in Model Reviews and Design Reviews; support Lead Engineer.

Your Future Team:

Your Missions:

• Delivery of tasks and support requests to quality and schedule.
• Maintaining effective communications with a wide variety of stakeholders, from plant-based staff to off-site design teams.
• Supporting timely responses to Technical Queries and Fault Observations raised by the off-site design teams.
• Daily liaison with the project team delivering the works.
• Upward, prompt reporting of issues.
• Ensure that input to designs are to required standards
• Ensure that the work is completed to the agreed schedule.
• Proactive interaction with other disciplines and partners to ensure overall project goals are met. Drive innovative solutions to reduce cost and schedule.
• Participate in relevant meetings, such as Model Reviews, Design reviews.
• Support the Lead Engineer where required.

Qualifications

Essential Experience:

• Educated to HNC / HND or degree in a relevant discipline or a chartered & member of an appropriate institute
• Strong client facing skills for Intelligent Customer interactions
• Nuclear site experience (preferably Sellafield) and operating in a site-based role.
• Background experience demonstrating a record of successful delivery to timescales.
• Experience with installation design packages and instrument datasheets.
• Previous design delivery experience
• Familiarity and experience of working and complying with applicable SL Practices, standards, and engineering guides
• Familiarity with SL systems e.g., Cimage, icePAC, CAESAR, AVEVA
• Peferably DV clearance but those with SC will be considered.
