Job summary

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a full-time Nursery Practitioner for the Freeman Hospital site. You will care for children aged 0-5, plan stimulating activities, and support their learning under supervision.

Applicants should have NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent, knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage, and good interpersonal skills. The role is 37.5 hours per week over four days, with a salary of £25,760–£27,476 per annum.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent (in Childcare).
• Knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage.
• Work with children aged 0-5 years.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Diplomacy in handling issues and confidential information.

Responsibilities

• To care and supervise children aged 0-5 years under the direction of the Lead Early Years Practitioner and the Senior Staff/Nursery Managers.
• To implement a structured and stimulating environment through play, under the direction of the Lead Early Years Practitioner, as a requirement of OFSTED.
• To supervise and assist students whilst on placement.
• To settle in new children, working closely with parents/carers under the direction of the Lead Early Years Practitioner.
