Job summary
Naim Audio Ltd in Salisbury is seeking an experienced Software Engineer (DSP) to develop embedded firmware for SHARC DSP processors in our high-end audio systems. You will contribute to the software architecture with the product development team, prototyping in C and MATLAB and integrating with electronics and acoustics teams.
The role requires strong real-time embedded software background, a passion for audio, and collaboration across firmware, electronics and acoustics to enhance signal
Qualifications
- Degree in Electronic Engineering or Computer Science.
- Strong C/C++ programming skills with at least 6 years commercial experience.
- Real-time embedded systems experience, preferably with SHARC DSP or similar.
- Experience with audio DSP techniques such as filters, sampling, FFT, and dynamic range control.
- Familiarity with electronics design and debugging techniques.
- Experience with Git, Jira and Agile development.
- Proactive documentation and collaborative development.
Responsibilities
- Develop real-time embedded software for DSP-based audio products.
- Write drivers for peripherals on the DSP chip or PCB.
- Design and implement audio processing chains in C and MATLAB.
- Collaborate with firmware, acoustics and electronics teams on integration.
- Bring up prototypes and test DSP/board level interfaces.
- Document design decisions and participate in peer reviews.
