Job summary

Polaris Inc. is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to lead the design of driveline, transmission and engine systems from concept through production. You will drive gear, shaft, bearing and chain-drive component designs and perform drivetrain analyses to ensure performance, quality and cost targets.

You will coordinate with suppliers, manufacturing partners and validation teams to deliver robust powertrain solutions, while mentoring teams and upholding design-for-manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in mechanical/powertrain/driveline or gear design.
• Experience with manufacturability and CAD modeling; Creo preferred.
• Experience with drivetrain analysis tools and GD&T/DVP&R.
• Strong communication and team leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of driveline, transmission, and engine systems from concept to production.
• Develop system schedules to meet program timing objectives.
• Create designs for gears, shafts, bearings, splines, and chain drives.
• Perform drivetrain analysis including gear mesh and load modeling.
• Conduct DFMEA/FEA and participate in design reviews.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners on DFM activities.
• Create 3D CAD models and engineering drawings; maintain documentation.
• Support validation activities including DVP&R planning and execution.
• Resolve supplier/manufacturing issues using structured problem solving.
