Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Drilling Engineer for a fully remote role. You will plan, design and execute drilling programs for onshore and offshore wells, ensuring safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness within a remote, globally distributed team.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of drilling experience, strong well planning and execution skills, and is proficient with drilling software and hydraulics simulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of drilling engineering experience, with strong well planning and execution background.
• Experience managing complex drilling projects, including HPHT wells if applicable.
• Proficiency with drilling engineering software and hydraulics simulators.
• Strong understanding of well control, directional drilling and completion interfaces.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and ability to collaborate in a remote team.
• IWCF certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed drilling programs and procedures for onshore and offshore wells.
• Design well trajectories, casing programs, and cementing strategies.
• Perform hydraulics, torque and drag analyses, and directional control planning.
• Select equipment, tools, and materials for well designs.
• Conduct pre-spud meetings and provide technical support during operations.
• Manage drilling budgets and seek cost optimization opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Analyze drilling performance data and implement improvements.
• Mentor junior drilling engineers and contribute to knowledge base.
• Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and reservoir/completions engineers remotely.
