Job description

We're looking for a Senior Drainage Engineer to join our Design team based in Liverpool. The team designs a wide range of building types and site redevelopments across various construction sectors such as education, retail, blue light, conservation, and commercial for both public and private clients.

Location: Liverpool

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with some flexibility available.

Responsibilities:

• Producing and reviewing drainage design calculations, flood risk assessment reports, drawings, models, strategies, and specifications.
• Coordinating drainage and civil engineering designs within the team and with other disciplines such as architecture, landscape, and building services engineering.
• Setting sustainable drainage strategies and obtaining necessary consents via local authority planning processes, including liaising with statutory authorities and flood risk bodies.
• Occasionally visiting sites for surveys and inspections, and representing the civil engineering team at project meetings.

Requirements:

• Professional qualifications such as BSc, MSc, BEng, or MEng in Civil Engineering or Environmental Sciences, and membership or chartership with relevant institutions (e.g., ICE, CIWEM).
• Knowledge of underground drainage design to current European Standards, experience with SUDS systems, and proficiency with Innovyze InfoDrainage or MicroDrainage software.
• Experience consulting with sewer operators, flood authorities, or environmental agencies.
• A full driving licence to visit sites and offices.
