Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Specialist Dosimetrist to join the Radiotherapy Physics team at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre and Gartnavel General Hospital. The post involves advanced treatment planning, dosimetry, and collaboration with clinicians to deliver high-quality cancer care.

The role requires a degree in a relevant field, HCPC registration, and substantial radiotherapy planning experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Medical Technology, Therapeutic Radiography or equivalent.
• HCPC registration as Therapeutic Radiographer or Clinical Technologist.
• Significant radiotherapy planning/dosimetry experience.
• Knowledge of radiotherapy planning systems and QA procedures.
• Understanding radiation safety and relevant legislation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and optimise radiotherapy treatment plans for external beam and brachytherapy.
• Support delivery of specialised brachytherapy services and preparations.
• Interpret imaging and clinical data to aid planning and delivery.
• Perform dosimetric calculations and plan verification.
• Participate in QA programmes to ensure safe use of equipment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient pathways.
• Contribute to service development and staff training.
