Job summary

Southend University Hospital NHS Trust in the NHS network is seeking a Higher Specialist Dosimetrist in Radiotherapy to join the Radiotherapy Physics/Radiotherapy team. You will be a senior member, delivering a highly specialised clinical technical service to MSEFT and leading development of innovative planning techniques.

The role includes horizon scanning for new research and technologies, leading oART workflows, and collaborating with clinicians to optimise patient-specific plans and safety

Qualifications

• Plan highly complex and non-routine treatments with bespoke adjustments.
• Provide expert treatment planning advice to Clinical Oncologists.
• Lead online Adaptive Radiotherapy (oART) workflows and integration.
• Supervise dosimetry staff and Clinical Technologists under the Lead Dosimetrist.

Responsibilities

• Plan highly complex & specialist non-routine treatments, adapting techniques for individual patients.
• Provide expert advice in treatment planning to Clinical Oncologists for highly complex cases.
• Attend treatment sessions or CT scanner to troubleshoot and advise on patient setup.
• Draw on specialist knowledge to determine evidence-based interventions and approve treatment plans.
