Job summary

Cohens Chemist is seeking a 40 hour Dispensing Technician to join our Heysham branch. You will dispense prescriptions, advise customers on medicines, and handle complex enquiries under a pharmacist’s supervision in a busy community pharmacy.

The role emphasizes accuracy, customer focus, and teamwork, with opportunities to promote services and coach colleagues. NVQ/QCF Level 3 Pharmacy Services and GPhC registration are required.

Qualifications

• NVQ/QCF Level 3 equivalent in Pharmacy Services is required.
• Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Experience in dispensing and advising customers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, assemble and dispense prescriptions accurately.
• Advise customers on alternative medicines or care needs where appropriate.
• Handle complex medication enquiries under pharmacist supervision.
• Build relationships with customers and promote services and products.
• Coach colleagues to maintain high dispensing standards.
• Maintain high levels of accuracy under tight deadlines.
