Job summary

Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is seeking a Deputy Director for Security Policy and Central Services to shape security strategy, policy, standards and capability across the organisation and beyond. This leadership role offers influence on government-wide security thinking and transformation to protect citizens and develop future security professionals.

The position leads a dispersed workforce, oversees strategy delivery, governance, education programmes and multi-stakeholder

Qualifications

Experience directing large, multi-location teams.
Proven ability to design and implement security strategy and policy.
Strong governance, risk and budget management skills.

Responsibilities

Lead dispersed teams across UK locations with clear accountability.
Identify and deliver security strategy, policies and standards.
Act as Deputy Head of Profession for security capability and learning.
Oversee Government Cyber Security Academy and SEAC education programmes.
Manage business strategy, communications, finances and risk in Security & Data Protection.
Oversee implementation of the DWP Security Strategy and transformation.
Ensure efficient operation including budget forecasting and HR/commercial compliance.
